With its two distinct therapy modes, the PressureGuard APM2 gives you twice the treatment options. Twice the flexibility. Twice the value. Change instantly and easily from alternating pressure to basic lateral rotation with a single, recessed toggle switch. Requires no disconnecting or exchanging of air lines. With the Deluxe control unit, the APM2 offers selectable audible alarm can be engaged to alert caregiver to low pressure status. The “Low Pressure” indicator light gives users at-a-glance assurance of proper function. Therapeutic Geo-Matt anti-shearing top surface; two-part Safety Edge™; smooth, subtle shifts in weightbearing in ten-minute cycles without sharp pressure drop-offs.

Features

  • The bacteriostatic top fabric is fire resistant, fluidproof, tear resistant, cleanable, and replaceable. The pleated design allows full integration with the mattress’s Geo-Matt style shear-relieving surface while minimizing hammocking.
  • The exclusive Geo-Matt® style foam topper is a high density, medical grade foam. The unique geometric design consists of over 800 individual cells, each of which acts individually to redistribute pressure, to reduce heat and moisture buildup on the skin, and to reduce shear to underlying tissues. This foam topper is 2″ in height and includes the unique Heel Slope™ feature, designed to further reduce pressure for the sensitive heel area.
  • The patented Safety Edge™ consists of a firm 2-part foam bolster whose inner edge contours under pressure to direct the patient towards the center of the mattress. This adds to patient stability in sitting and lying down, and helps prevent falls and entrapment between the siderail and the mattress.
  • The inflation system consists of four urethane air cylinders in standard models, six in the APM Bariatric, that run head to foot underneath the body and the foam topper. These cylinders perform the alternating pressure therapy, and the lateral rotation therapy in the APM2 models. Cylinders inflate and deflate in a fixed 10-minute cycle or selectable cycle on the Bariatric Model The cycles and inflation levels are designed to provide and maintain low interface pressures throughout the mattress, and to redistribute peak interface pressure points during the alternating cycle.
  • Model 5800 – Silent, reliable, maintenance-free control unit allows pressure changes within a small but perceptible range. This gives the caregiver some control over firmness without compromising pressure redistribution or causing bottoming out. Low Pressure indicator light gives at-a-glance assurance of proper function. Selectable audible alarm can be engaged to alert caregiver to low pressure status. Torque-free port location helps eliminate mechanical stresses on quick-connectors, minimizing wear.
